Tualatin Federal Solutions is a veteran-owned IT reseller in West Linn, Oregon, founded in October 2026 by Heath Watte, a US Army veteran. Heath owns 100% of the company and handles every quote himself, so government buyers deal with one accountable person from first question to delivery.

## Heath Watte, founder

Heath served in the US Army as a UH-60 Black Hawk crew chief and instructor, including in Afghanistan. He later worked as a NAVAIR UAS/UAV deployment technician, and he holds an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.

In Heath's words:

## Questions buyers ask

### Is the company veteran-owned or service-disabled veteran-owned?

Veteran-owned: Heath Watte, a US Army veteran, owns 100% of it. SBA certifies veteran-owned small businesses (VOSB) and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSB) separately, and SDVOSB status requires a service-connected disability record with the VA. We do not use either label before SBA certifies it.

### What qualifies a business as veteran-owned for federal contracts?

Under SBA's rule, a veteran-owned small business must be small and "not less than 51 percent owned and controlled by one or more veterans who reside in the United States." Certification through SBA's VetCert program is required to win VOSB or SDVOSB set-asides, and certified firms recertify every 3 years. Heath owns 100% of this company.

### Does Heath's drone background mean you sell drones?

Not today. Heath is an FAA Part 107 remote pilot and worked as a NAVAIR UAS/UAV deployment technician, which gives him real familiarity with that equipment. If we add drone hardware or software, we will check FAR 52.240-1 and the DCMA Blue UAS list before quoting any product, and we will say so on our what we sell page.
