What they buy

Typical Northwest awards are small and specific. The Oregon Army National Guard bought "Criminal Analyst Notebook Software" ($153,734). Grand Coulee bought a "LICENSE RENEWAL-VMWARE CBP SCADA" ($26,693). The Naval Undersea Warfare Center bought "Citrix Software" ($145,157) from BahFed Corp of Portland. Those are the kinds of buys we quote: named products, clear quantities, firm dates.

State and local buyers in Oregon

  • OregonBuys. The state's buying system. "Suppliers must register for an OregonBuys account to do business with the state."
  • COBID Veteran Business Enterprise. Oregon's Certification Office for Business Inclusion and Diversity certifies veteran-owned firms for state and local contracts. Its VBE certification "is for service-disabled veteran-owned and veteran-owned businesses," it "is based on the individual rather than the size of the business," and "Certifications do not expire." Our status: not certified yet. OregonBuys picks up COBID certifications automatically.

Questions buyers ask

Are you certified by Oregon's COBID office?

We are not COBID-certified yet. COBID is the office that certifies veteran-owned businesses for Oregon public contracts, and its VBE certification covers both veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned firms. Once certified, our status will appear on OregonBuys automatically and on our registrations page.

Do you work with federal offices in Washington as well as Oregon?

Yes. Most of the Northwest notices in the table above came from Washington offices, led by VA Network Contracting Office 20, which buys for VA Portland and the rest of the VA's Northwest network, followed by NOAA and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center. We quote for any federal office, and being in the Portland metro area puts us in the same time zone as all of them.

Can a Washington state or local agency buy from you?

Yes, by purchase order under your agency's own procurement rules. Send the product, quantity and deadline and we will quote it. If your agency buys through a cooperative contract instead, tell us which one and we will say plainly whether we can help.
